Clipboard Pro+ Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 4, 2026
Overview
Clipboard Pro+ helps you save, organize, and reuse copied text and links. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and which services are used. The app may appear in App Store metadata as Clipboard Pro+ Paste Manager.
Clipboard Pro+ does not require account registration, does not operate a developer backend for clipboard history, and does not sell clipboard content.

Information You Save
Clipboard Pro+ may store:
- Clipboard text and links that you save
- Favorite status for saved clips
- Tags you assign to saved clips
- Local AI titles, summaries, suggested tags, suggested actions, or rewrites generated for saved clips when supported
- App preferences such as appearance, tracking, and history limits
- Subscription state needed to unlock Premium features
Clipboard Access And Tracking
- Clipboard tracking can be turned on or off in Settings.
- On iPhone and iPad, tracking saves supported text and links while the main app is active. iOS does not permit continuous background clipboard capture.
- On Mac, capture is opt-in and checks clipboard changes every 250 milliseconds while enabled and the user session is active. It continues with the search panel closed, pauses on sleep/lock/session inactivity, and skips concealed, transient, self-written, and excluded-app entries. Excluded application identifiers stay on the Mac.
- Mac quick-paste requests event-posting permission only when you choose Enable Quick Paste. It restores the app selected before search and requests Command+V. Without permission, manual copy remains available. Launch at login and iCloud sync are separate choices.
- You can also add items manually or save selected text and web URLs through the share extension.
Storage And Sync
- Clipboard history is stored locally in a Core Data SQLite database. Legacy local files are imported idempotently and a local backup is retained; existing IDs and metadata are preserved. Divergent legacy text versions are kept separately.
- The app uses Apple App Groups and UserDefaults shared storage so the main app, keyboard extension, and share extension can exchange saved clip lists and entitlement state.
- If you use Premium sync, saved clipboard data may also sync through your private iCloud account so it can appear on your own devices signed into the same Apple Account.
- iCloud sync uses a private CloudKit record zone. Text and metadata are stored in encrypted record fields; large payloads use CloudKit assets, which Apple encrypts by default. Encryption protection depends on your Apple Account settings, including Advanced Data Protection.
- Sync state and cached libraries are separated by iCloud account. A different account does not receive the previous account’s library. A payload-free deletion marker is retained to prevent an offline device restoring a deleted clip.
- iCloud sync is provided by Apple and is subject to your Apple Account and iCloud settings. Delivery is opportunistic. Failed uploads retain local content and show an error. Older app versions must update to join this sync system.
- Clipboard Pro+ does not upload clipboard history to a developer-operated server.
Keyboard Extension And Full Access
- The keyboard extension can be selected without Full Access, but saved clips require Full Access to appear inside the keyboard.
- If you enable
Allow Full Access, the keyboard can read and update shared saved-clip lists stored in the app group. - Full Access is used to show saved clips, insert selected clips, copy selected clips to the pasteboard, and update the Recently Copied list.
- Full Access is not used to send typed keystrokes, keyboard input, clipboard item text, or saved clips to a developer server.
Share Extension
- The share extension can receive text and web URLs that you choose to share from other apps.
- Shared content is written into shared app-group storage so the main app can import it into clipboard history.
- Free users can save a limited number of incoming items. Premium users can save multi-item imports when available.
On-Device AI Features
- On supported iPhone and iPad devices and operating systems, Clipboard Pro+ may use Apple's on-device Foundation Models to generate local titles, summaries, tags, suggested actions, and rewrites for saved clipboard items.
- These AI features process the selected clipboard item on device and do not send clipboard content to a developer-operated AI service.
- Clipboard Pro+ also uses on-device system detection for supported actions such as links, phone numbers, email addresses, and map addresses.
- If on-device AI is unavailable, these features may be limited or unavailable.
The Mac companion searches synced AI titles and metadata but does not automatically run AI processing.
Purchases
- Premium subscriptions are processed and verified on each platform by Apple StoreKit. One subscription covers Mac, iPhone, and iPad; an iCloud flag does not unlock paid access.
- Clipboard Pro+ does not store your payment-card information.
- Apple may process purchase-related data according to Apple's own privacy terms.
Analytics
- The iPhone and iPad app uses Firebase Analytics to measure app launches, screen views, and feature actions so the app can be improved.
- The app's privacy manifest declares Product Interaction, Other Usage Data, and Device ID for analytics, with tracking disabled and data not linked to the user's identity.
- Analytics events may include app and feature metadata, such as screen name, action name, content type, item count, tag count, pinned status, AI availability/result, subscription state, and app language.
- Analytics events do not include clipboard item text, saved links, typed keyboard content, shared content, AI-generated text, payment-card details, or account credentials.
- Firebase may process app instance identifiers and device or app information needed to provide analytics.
The Mac target includes no third-party analytics SDK.
Tracking, Advertising, And Sale Of Data
- Clipboard Pro+ does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
- Clipboard Pro+ does not use third-party tracking code to follow you across apps or websites.
- Firebase Analytics is not used for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Clipboard Pro+ does not sell clipboard content or analytics data to advertisers.
Retention And Your Controls
Premium retention defaults to 10,000 clips and can be set to 200, 1,000, 5,000, or 10,000. The setting syncs between devices. Lowering it requires confirmation of removals. Favorites count toward the limit and are protected; oldest unpinned clips are removed first. Subscription expiry stops Mac capture, sync, and quick-paste while preserving saved data. iPhone and iPad limit free access to 20 items without deleting the Premium archive.
You can:
- Turn clipboard tracking on or off from Settings
- Delete individual items
- Edit saved items on iPhone and iPad
- Clear history
- Remove favorites
- Change history limits where available
- Cancel or manage subscriptions through Apple
- Disable iCloud sync by turning off Premium sync features or changing your iCloud settings
